IBI Group’s Construction Cup Tops Fundraising Goal for Charity
London, UK (September 12, 2017) – Organized by IBI Group, the Construction Cup is one of the industry’s most popular charity football tournaments. The event has celebrated its seventh year by achieving its highest-ever fundraising total in aid of Construction Youth Trust (CYT).
IBI Group London and Brighton studios teamed up with CYT to take part in the 2017 Construction Cup tournament last week, where 40 teams united together on 1 September to raise £5,663.80 for the charity. The winner of the title was geotechnical solutions specialists, Keller UK, with construction and property consultants, Core Five, taking second place.
Marketing Coordinator, Becki Murphy said: “We are really proud of achieving such a fantastic fundraising total for Construction Youth Trust. It’s really important to us that we give back to the communities we work and live in. Everyone who has participated and donated to this year’s event has helped us support the great work of CYT.”
Carol Lynch, Chairman of the Construction Youth Trust said: “We are delighted that IBI Group’s Construction Cup event has chosen to support us for a second year. We are looking forward to putting the funds raised from this extraordinary event into educating, training, and inspiring more young people, and helping them develop career paths in the construction industry.”
IBI UK offices raised just under £300 from prize draw ticket sales, and the tournament was supported by London, Brighton and Rochdale staff including: Studio Principals, Justin Harris and Neil Murphy; Studio Director, Paul Menadue; and Higher Education & Science Lead, Andrew Fursdon.
The Construction Cup began in 2011 and is the largest annual charity event of the year for IBI Group UK. The five-a-side league has grown to become one of the biggest charitable tournaments in the industry. Over the last six years, the event has raised over £29,500 for charitable causes, with 139 companies taking part in the tournament.
